Aunt Hannah's Bounty
Great Aunt Hannah's bounty
Began years and years ago
How her passion started
I cannot say I know
She had a way with gardens
With flowers and little seeds
She tended them as children
With devotion to their needs
She would sow them at the full moon
Good fortune to embrace
She would kneel to give her full care
One with nature's grace
You might have thought her crazy
How she doted on them so
Yet when the perfect time came
A glorious feast would grow
She passed along the best fruit
To all who might receive it
A present of her deepest love
To whomever would believe it
I don't know what became of her
I was too young to remember
Still I see her bounty
From April through September
